Why are National MS Society volunteers important?
The National Multiple Sclerosis Society is a volunteer-driven organization, which means we would never manage to perform our functions without volunteers. Last year, hundred of volunteers helped in the office and at events, served on committees, and donated their time and talents. There are many different jobs that need your energy and enthusiasm. The benefits of volunteering are well known. Studies have shown that if a personal altruistically uses their time and talents in service to others, their own life in enhanced and prolonged. Our volunteers report that what they do benefits themselves, their families and their peers. Almost always volunteers will report they get much more than they give.

Why Volunteer?
- To keep a New Year's resolution.
- To make a difference.
- To share your knowledge and resources.
- To gain new skills.
- To meet new people.
- To gain personal satisfaction.
- To give back to the community.
- To help raise funds for research.
- Because 6,000 people in Northern Virginia, Maryland, and
Washington D.C. have MS.
- Because we need to find a cure.
- To boost corporate morale.
- To have fun!
Just one of these reasons is enough for you to join the Volunteer
Development Program. We are looking for eager volunteers interested
in learning more about the Society and what it has to offer
while working with us to end the devastating effects of multiple
sclerosis.
We have many volunteer opportunities. There are special events
that require help before, during, and after, service and educational
programs, and opportunities to volunteer your time in the
office.
Why not give us a try?
