Crew and Super Spokes Jobs for Bike MS: Beyond the Beltway
- Athletic Trainers/Physical Therapists Health professionals are needed to assist with morning stretches and overall health and safety on the event. These crewmembers will be stationed at rest stops along the walk route and at the start and finish lines. Requirements: Basic first aid knowledge or greater, athletic training experience.
- Rest Stop/Pit Stop Captain We're looking for crewmembers who are willing to step up and take a leadership role. Rest stop coordinators assist with trouble-shooting and supervising of rest stop assistants and volunteers throughout the weekend. Requirements: Good humor and the ability to lead other crew members and volunteers. Ability to lift at least 30 pounds since there will be some lifting required.
- Floater put me anywhere. (Please do not check this if you have physical limitations)
- Truck Crew Drive trucks, pick up and drop off supplies, load up trash and take it to dumpsters. Repack trucks daily. Ability to lift at least 40 pounds. Must be over 21 and have valid drivers license.
- Luggage Crew Load, pack, and unpack the luggage truck. Ability to lift at least 40 pounds.
- Massage Therapists Help to soothe the aching muscles and feet of the hundreds of walkers who will be putting their bodies to the test. Massage therapists will be at rest stops and at each finish line. Requirements: Certified massage therapists or massage therapy students.
- Meal Service Assist with breakfast and dinner service. Coordinate set-up and clean-up and direct volunteers who come in and out everyday.
- Medical/First Aid Trained medical professionals are needed at all points along the route to monitor injuries and the well being of walkers. Requirements: Paramedic, EMT, Nurse (LPN and RN), Doctor, or Podiatrists.
- Motorcycle Escorts Do you own a motorcycle? Take it out on a 50-mile journey that you'll never forget. Assist with route support by patrolling the route and assisting where needed. Requirements: Must have own vehicle. Must be over 21 and have valid drivers license.
- Overnight Crew Assist staff with supervision and set-up of the overnight sites. Assist with training volunteers the day of the event and trouble-shoot any situations that may arise. Requirements: Advance work with staff is required.
- Photographer Use your photography skills to capture moments of challenge and triumph. Must provide own digital camera. Requirements: Strong photographic skills needed.
- Route Markers Mark the route for the walkers. Hang signs that will provide direction and encouragement to walkers along their 50-mile journey. Requirements: Ability to use duct tape, spray paint and staple guns. Route Markers will mark the route prior to each day's and take down markers from the previous day's route.
- SAG (Support and Gear) Drivers Provide transportation and support to walkers who might need assistance along the route. Requirements: Must have own vehicle. Must be over 21 and have valid drivers license.
- Videographer Professionals are needed to record events of the weekend from the start to the finishing ceremony. Requirements: Provide own equipment.
