Funding more MS research than any other voluntary agency in the world, in 2007, the National MS Society will invest $45 million into MS research projects in the U.S. and abroad, supporting more than 380 research projects. Between its inception in 1946 and the end of fiscal year 2007, the Society will have invested a cumulative $550 million in research.
To encourage innovative research into highly promising, but understudied, research areas, the National Capital Chapter has committed to raise $1 million by the year 2010 to invest in research into the cause and cure of MS. The National Capital Chapter is part of a nationwide campaign, PROMISE: 2010. The goal is to invest $30 million into targeted MS research.
