Funds raised by the National Capital Chapter help finance the international research efforts of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. The funds support basic research and clinical trials at hundreds of medical centers across the country and around the world. Research goals include the following:

• Determining the cause of MS
• Developing treatments for, and ways to prevent, the disease
• Finding a cure.
