    MS Aquatic Exercise is offered twice a week from September through March. In this class, participants will take advantage of the water's natural buoyancy to increase mobility, flexibility, strength, endurance, and to promote a sense of well-being.

    Fairfax County, Virginia

    Multiple Sclerosis Water Exercise is a shallow water exercise program, designed for individuals with physical disabilities. Participants will take advantage of the water's natural buoyancy to increase mobility and flexibility. Volunteers are on hand to allow participants to work at their own pace and ability level. Wheelchair users are welcome.

    Moving with Mobility Impairments offers exercises that help to maintain flexibility in joints, build muscle strength, relax the body and promote a sense of achievement. Class is adapted for any type of mobility, whether ambulatory or using a wheelchair.

    Yoga for Health is designed to allow participants with a range of physical problems, like MS, to utilize the healing benefits of yoga. Emphasis is on relaxation, breathing and gentle postures to promote flexibility and mobility.

    Montgomery County, Maryland

    Montgomery County offers two classes that are offered four times per year. Each session is six to eight weeks in duration.

    Moving with Multiple Sclerosis offers exercises to help maintain flexibility in joints, maintain muscle strength, promote relaxation and a sense of well-being. The class includes discussions on ways to continue exercising outside of class.

    Feeling Fit with Multiple Sclerosis is for those who would like to learn to workout independently. Each session includes a warm up, work out, and cool down. Emphasis is placed on participants learning how to develop a balanced physical activity plan. At the close of class, participants will be able to design and begin and Individual Fitness Plan.
