Make your Vote Count
Voting is one way to take action and make your voice heard.

2. Choosing where to vote:
After registering to vote, you must decide if it is feasible for you to vote at your polling place.
Call your local registration office to check on accessibility and available accommodations.
3. Voting by absentee ballot:
Persons with disabilities have the option to apply to vote from the convenience of home by using an
absentee ballot. In Virginia, caregivers may also apply for absentee ballots. Once your application
is approved, you will receive a ballot in the mail. You must fill it out and return it to the address
indicated. To request an absentee ballot, you must have already registered to vote. Applications are
available by calling your local Board of Elections (See phone numbers under “Registering to Vote”).
